Best Buds!!!!

The Box Elder County Fair

At the Clinic, Each Vet was asked to take a night at the Rodeo. Ira got lucky and we got to go two nights. Friday night was family night and the rides were all for a dollar. So before the Rodeo we took the girls on the rides. The rides were a lot of fun and it was a great night for a Rodeo.

Rabbit 4-H

This year we wanted to put the girls in 4-H. After getting bunnies for Easter the girls were really excited to be in 4-H. Morgan and Snowball did very good in Showmanship. She answered all of the judges questions and did very well. Snowball won a Blue Ribbon in Best of Breed. So way to go Morgan.....

Madyson also did very well. However, I think that Oreo had a little stage fright because he was all over the place. Madyson was giggling and you could tell that she was having fun, but the judge thought that she needed a little more time with her bunny. Oreo did get a blue ribbon in Best of Breed so we were happy about that.

Both of the girls really had a lot of fun with this and hopefully we will get them to do this next year. Makenzie would really like that! Next year we will try Bucket Calves. Won't that be an adventure.SMile!!!

Swiming

This summer we put the girls in swimming lessons. Both Madyson and Morgan passed their level 2 class and I am so proud of them. Mady is an awesome swimmer and she has a really good front stroke. Morgan, being the first to pass the level 2 class at 5, did really good too. She is a very confident swimmer. This year Makenzie got to be in swimming lessons and she had so much fun. She is a big girl and can finally do the fun big girl stuff. They made sure that they were out side every chance they could so they could practice the cool stuff they learned in swimming lessons. Jingle Bells

A couple of weeks ago we had a wonderful surprise. We were working in the front yard when Morgan said, "Mom I hear Santa Claus." We looked down the road and saw two really small horses and a wagon being pulled behind it. The owner just happened to be in our ward taking his two grandchildren for a ride. He pulled over and asked us if our girls would like to join them. Of course they were more than willing, so they hopped on the back and went for a ride.

Mickelsen Farm Update

Our little farm just keeps growing as the summer progresses. A couple of months ago we got some chickens. One of our chickens sat on a nest and the eggs hatched two weeks ago. The girls just love watching and holding the baby chicks. Round two will be here shortly as another hen started sitting on a nest last week. So far our chicken total is 2 roasters, 4 hens, and 6 chicks. We also had the arrival of two adorable baby goslings. The girls have named them Piddle Puddle and Little Quack after a book they read. We are really enjoying our new arrivals.

Mickelsen animal total currently stands at 29 and counting
